HOW TO GET THERE

By boat

Hellenic Seaways connects the island with the Municipality of Attica. A boat leaves the port of Lavrio 3 to 4 times a week (voyage duration 9 hours). Lemnos is also connected by boat with the city of Kavala (6 to 7 times a week – voyage duration 3 ½ hours).  Hellenic Seaways operate throughout the year. During the summer months, Blue Star Ferries connect Lemnos with the islands of Mytilene, Chios, Samos, Icaria, Mykonos, Syros and the port of Piraeus.

By airplane

Lemnos has an airport, one of the largest in the Aegean Sea. Olympic Air and Aegean Air connect the international airport Hephaistos of Lemnos (LXS) with the international airport Eleftherios Venizelos of Athens. Planes take off every day apart from Saturday from November to March and flights are doubled during the remaining months. The flight duration, depending on the aircraft, takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Sky Express connects Lemnos with Salonica, the islands of Mytilene, Chios, Icaria, Samos and Rhodes 4 times a week. During the summer months, Lemnos is connected with charter flights with several European capital cities. πρωτεύουσες.

Road infrastructure

The island of Lemnos has an asphalted road network of approximately 200 kilometres in good condition. The road network connects the capital city of Myrina with 36 settlements on the island. Asphalted roads lead to the main beaches and the archaeological sites, apart from the one that leads to Hephaistia. Coaches to villages operate from the main Coach Station of Lemnos twice a day, apart from Sunday. Also, there are taxis available in the city of Myrina and cover the largest villages. Local rent-a-car business are also available.
